By the word of the Lord emphasizes that this is an authoritative command, whether Paul received this by direct revelation or if it is an unrecorded saying of Jesus; it comes from Jesus, not Paul b. The Thessalonians were afraid that the dead in Christ would miss out, but Paul assures them that those gone on before them won't feel cheated at not being on earth when Jesus comes back to this earth, because the dead in Christ will gain first benefit c. The shout here is the same word used for a ship's master to his rowers, or a commander to his soldier; "Always there is the ring of authority and the note of urgency." (Morris) d. Is God great or what :) !!! Anyway my friend, thank you for your kind and uplifting post. May God bless the rest of you evening. |

inmyheart, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever! Where ever I am I'll praise you my God! When ever I can I will praise you my Savior! Thank you for your post my friend! I'm sorry for the late response. After I responded to your post I shut out the lights because I had to rise early this morning. Your post was much needed. I checked my e-mail when I got up this morning, and your post was a great way to start my day! Lately things have been this way for me, not that I am to be compared with Paul: 2 Cor 7:5 For even when we came into Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted on every side: conflicts without, fears within. Thank you again my friend! Always your brother in Christ Jesus, our Savior and Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
