1 | Who was that masked man? | Col 2:16 | Radioman | 25757
Heard on Christian radio. "Look for people who always seem stuck on one over-emphasized point of theology. This is the person who bangs the proverbial drum for his own little area. Some crazy quirk. And it usually is not some great divine insight. They'd like you to think they're so close to God that they have a great divine insight that no one else has. The fact of the matter is they're seeking a platform for the feeding of their ego. Watch for people with a lack of balance." If one has submitted a total of 80 postings and 79 of them are about the same verse, does that not seem a bit quirkish? Could someone who submits 79 out of 80 postings about ONE verse of the Bible be considered yet another Internet Lone Ranger Bible teacher and self-appointed expert with a lack of balance? |

Radioman Your absolutely right and if you notice he did it ignoring the fact he was for all intents and purposes proven wrong on nearly every point. He also refused to state his position when asked many times. This was truly a case if you can not amaze them with brilliance stun them with rhetoric. His web site is more of the same. EdB |

" ignoring the fact he was for all intents and purposes proven wrong on nearly every point." Ed, you have yet to prove me wrong on anything. |

Forgot to add that today alone I recieved over 7 emails just about this; and they say they not only understand but they agree that I am right and they are glad that I have posted actually facts and looked at the Bibles spouting off ppersonal opinions. I had one a couple of months ago from a guy who has a D.Min. degree and is now working on his Ph.d.. He found my web page about Col. 2:16-17 and says that from what he has seen I am the only one who is right. And the kicker is that I only supplied one little element; the rest I have pulled in from others! So, if I am wrong then all the others are too! Now which is more likely: that experts in the field of Greek grammar and linguistics are wrong or those who make claims that I am?

First how are these people e-mailing you. Your e-mail address is not in your profile so these must people other than readers of the forum. Secondly as far as credentials you don't want to go there! You will lose that contest. That said let me also say many people that have doctorates also do not believe in God, However God says a “fool” says there is no God. Credentials are not the proof of right or wrong they just show you have meet certain criteria of prescribed study, none of which could have any bearing on the subject at hand. Thirdly this is not a contest where the number of people agreeing with you counts. It has been clearly shown you are attempting to use a non standard form of interpretation in order to reach the conclusions you have. It has been shown repeatedly that men and women that earn their living translating Greek and Hebrew disagree with your assumptions. That fact and that fact alone should overshadow, to most anyone’s satisfaction, the 7 e-mails you received that said your right. You presented a noble idea, it was interesting, but you have also been shown the flaws in it. Drop it and get on with you life. EdB |
