Nothing, if you take the cross to be an idol to which you bow down. Or if you believe somehow that piece of jewelry you wear around your neck, or the thing hanging on your wall, has any power to it. We worship Christ and Him crucified. But remember the ascension - Mark 16:19. The tomb is empty - He is risen and coming again in glory - Halleluia! Jesus said "unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you". He is the bread of life, and by His shed blood on the cross, we have forgiveness of sins. What is true worship - I refer you to the responsorial praise (the "new song") of Heaven in Revelation 5:9-14. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, for He has redeemed us to God by His Blood! Preach Christ and Him crucified, that as many as are given to Him, may believe. The slaughtered Lamb hanging on the cross is the source of all our strength, and behold, He is coming again in Glory - will you be ready? |
