The purposes of studying the bible are: -To get to know your Lord more personaly because He (God/Jesus) *is* the word (see Jn 1:1) and by getting to know the written word better you also get to know the very nature and character of our Lord. -To feed your spirit. (Matt 4:4) -To arm yourself for the spiritual battle that you will have to fight. The word is a weapon against the enemy. Your sword! (Ephes 6:11,17)(Heb 4:12) -To train you in righteousness...how to live...to equip you as a saint. (2Tim 3:16) -So that you will know the truth and not be fooled by the lies of the enemy! |
