1 | How Big is God? | Phil 4:19 | Morant61 | 208025 | ||
Greetings Val! Dear sister, I am not berating anyone. The general theme of many of these posts on this topic has been that sometimes God will not deliver; therefore, we must lie to protect the innocent. I have pointed out Scripture after Scripture which clearly states that it is a sin to lie. I have pointed out Scripture after Scripture that affirms that God is all powerful and all knowing. Yet, for some unexplainable reason, many are still insisting that sometimes we might have to lie because God won't deliver us otherwise. Quite simply dear sister, this is not a question of differing views, but of obedience to the clear commands of Scripture. There are certainly times when believers may differ on certain issues in the light of seemingly conflicting Scriptures. But, this is not one of those cases. You have not produced one Scripture that says it is okay to lie, but have only expressed your opinion that it is okay to break God's commands if one has a good enough motive. It is a slippery slope to start making exceptions to God's commands. We either obey Him or we don't! Frankly, I never expected such a strong reaction to God's command from Christians on a Bible Study Forum. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Yes I provided a complete passage in Ecclesiates. Chapter 3 - A time for Everything. You may also search the posts regarding "War". There are scriptures references there. When you say I have little faith, that is offensive. What kind of a reaction would you give to someone who told you that? I never said it was ok to lie. I said there are violent crime situations where I would lie if it was for a greater good. Please stop. |
