1 | Please explain Phil 4:19 | Phil 4:19 | a lover of Jesus | 70047
I do not understand the meaning of "according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus". Since this is our God's way of supplying all my need, I want to understand what God is expressing by this phrase. Thanks and God bless you.
2 | Please explain Phil 4:19 | Phil 4:19 | gracefull | 70082
"according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Relationship! In accordance to or to the same measure...All His riches in glory. Would you think there would be anything lacking in God? I think a good cross reference here might be 2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power hath made unto us allall things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Key words to think about... What do they mean to you? 1. Grace and peace - multiplied unto you 2. Through the knowledge of God and Jesus (our Lord) 3. According to His power 4. Has given all things 5. Life and godliness 6. great and precious promises 7. Partakers of the divine nature All your need is supplied but where and what is the supply? Do not look for the 'supply' but diligently seek the 'supplier' for it is as you grow in the knowledge of Him that you receive the supply. (as you go-in your walk with Him-by faith) |

3 | Please explain Phil 4:19 | Phil 4:19 | Ray | 70088
Hi graceful, Did you change some words in your quote of 2 Peter 1:2-4 or is there another version out there that I don't know about? You have done some good work and thinking here. I like to be thinking of the same things at the same time here on the forum. I was asking about the version because I go with the NASB for verse 3 in that it reads "through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence." This goes better I believe with verse 10, "Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you;..." The blessing of being called by (God) and being (His) people is a good study for believers. From the heart, Ray |

Hello brother Ray. I was quoting from the King James. There is one misquote... I said " his divine power hath MADE" rather than "his divine power hath given". Other than that all seems well. I believe new believers should be introduced to the fact that they are called and chosen for a purpose early in their walk. The course of their life has now changed, and that they are now in a relationship with the Father and Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Then as they learn and grow in that 'relationship' they will be concious of a higher purpose. Being connected to the vine is our life source and the supply of all our needs for the furtherance and growth of the body. We are family! Thanks for your post.. God Bless! |

Hi graceful, Thank you for answering my post. I was interested in seeing if there was another translation out there that was capitalizing pronouns of Deity. I had taken note that the first time you quoted the passsage you had said, "His divine power". Now I see that you had capitalized "His" on your own. I praise God with you. Praise the Lord for He is good! From the heart, Ray P.S. I agree with vine, life source, and supply also. :) |
