See also Deut 18:10. I suspect that these verses are used to support the position of burial over cremation. God tells us that our bodies are the "temple" of the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor 6:19)But when those physical bodies die, the Holy Spirit does not remain there, so my PERSONAL OPINION IS that as long as we honor what God has created in death, we are not acting inappropriately. What do you think about cyrogenics? (Freezing the body with the expectation of "reviving" it when the "cure" for what one succumbed to becomes available.)Is this God-honoring? How does cremation compare to this? God said, "For you are dust, and to dust you shall return." Gen 3:19 I guess by cremation we just get to dust a little quicker! Blessings, Mommapbs |
