1 | Was the serpent being worshipped? | Num 21:8 | Makarios | 9183
Why did the LORD allow an image of a serpent to be made and for the Israelites to look to it for life? (Num. 21:8) Wouldn't this be in violation of Ex. 20:4? |

3 | Was the serpent being worshipped? | Num 21:8 | Makarios | 9280
This is interesting.. Ryrie's Study Bible states, "Only those who believed God and looked on the bronze serpent lived. The NT uses this incident as an illustration of Christ's vicarious death on the cross and of the necessity of personal faith for salvation (John 3:14-15)." Thanks THECROSS! Blessings, Nolan |

4 | Was the serpent being worshipped? | Num 21:8 | Searcher56 | 9409
Nolan, correct. There is a lot of NT typology in the OT. 2Ki 18:4 says that Israel had been burning incense to it, a calling it Nehushtan, so Hezekiah broke it into pieces. They had violated the Law. Steve |
