1 | Were there rules about touching the dead | Num 19:11 | Morant61 | 49768
Greetings Songbirdca! The best reference is found in Num. 19:11-16: "11 ‘‘Whoever touches the dead body of anyone will be unclean for seven days. 12 He must purify himself with the water on the third day and on the seventh day; then he will be clean. But if he does not purify himself on the third and seventh days, he will not be clean. 13 Whoever touches the dead body of anyone and fails to purify himself defiles the LORD’s tabernacle. That person must be cut off from Israel. Because the water of cleansing has not been sprinkled on him, he is unclean; his uncleanness remains on him. 14 ‘‘This is the law that applies when a person dies in a tent: Anyone who enters the tent and anyone who is in it will be unclean for seven days, 15 and every open container without a lid fastened on it will be unclean. 16 ‘‘Anyone out in the open who touches someone who has been killed with a sword or someone who has died a natural death, or anyone who touches a human bone or a grave, will be unclean for seven days." Other references include: Lev. 21:11, Num. 6:6-11, and Num. 9:6-10. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | What about those who buried Jesus? | Num 19:11 | Songbirdca | 49846
Wow! How would that apply to Jesus' burial then? Would Joseph of Arimathea and the women who anointed Jesus body have to go through a special cleansing period afterwards? Or did those laws still apply? Songbirdca |

3 | What about those who buried Jesus? | Num 19:11 | Morant61 | 49847
Greetings Songbirdca! To the best of my knowledge, these laws were still followed in the time of Christ. So, yes, the women who annoited Christ's body would have been ceremonially unclean for a period of time. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

4 | What about those who buried Jesus? | Num 19:11 | Mandy33319 | 49898
John 19: 39--40 "Nicodemus, the man who had come to Jesus at night, came too, bringing a hundred pounds of embalming ointment made from myrrh and aloes. Together (with Joseph of Arimathea), they wrapped Jusus' body in a long linen cloth saturated with the spices, as is the Jewish custom of burial." |
