1 | To Whom does the Sr. Pastor tithe to? | Num 18:28 | HEWEsq | 39985
In the context of the new testament church, how are the tithes to be handled? Are thay still for the material support of the levites fulltime 5fold ministers. How are they distributed among them? Do ministers who are paid from the tithes tithe to the pastor as the levites did to Aaron the high priest? Who does the pastor tithe to? In this verse it appears that the Lord intended for the tithe to be given upward people to the levites, levites to the High Priest If the pastor and church are a apart of a covering organization should the church tithe to that organization? Should the pastor tithe personally to the head of that organization or does he tithe to whom he considers to be his spiritual father? There is great controversy in most churches about this issue. What do the scriptures really say about this issue in the new testament? |

2 | To Whom does the Sr. Pastor tithe to? | Num 18:28 | EdB | 40017
First of all your not tithing to a Pastor or at least you shouldn't be. You are to be honoring God with your tithe. The church is only an agent assigned by God to be a steward for the money. A senior pastor is pay his tithe to honor God also. He presents it to the church and they then become stewards of it and use it as God has directed. EdB |

3 | Why Abram tithe to Melch. Levi to Aaron | Num 18:28 | HEWEsq | 40114
Why did Abram tithe to Melchisedec, levites tithe to Aaron?
4 | Why Abram tithe to Melch. Levi to Aaron | Num 18:28 | EdB | 40134
Abram was honoring Melchisedec not giving to God. Tithing was a ancient custom as a way of honoring a person. When God instituted the tithe so that the there would be sufficient funds to accomplish his ministry, the people understood this as a way to honor God. Today the tithe is to be paid to honor God. Many men have corrupted this in an effort to insure they get your money they have changed the teaching and claim it as sowing into a ministry or a person. Then they expand on this and say if you sow in good soil you will get a good return etc. However the tithe is to be paid to God as an act or worship, it is to be placed before Him as show of honor and reverence to God. Nothing should be expected in return, however God does promise that if we will bring into his storehouse (a ministry He is using as a steward) we will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings upon us. Those blessing may be money but they can also be spiritual blessings, or physical blessing like good health, drug free kids, etc. Again the object of giving is not to get the blessing but rather to pay honor to God. 5 | Is tithe used for Min. or Bldg or both? | Num 18:28 | HEWEsq | 40176
How is the tithe to be used? Is the tithe for the support of the fulltime Ministers or for the purchase or up kept of the building and utilities or a combinination of both? Did not God give the tithe to the levites as an inheirtance forever? When Moses gave instructions for the Tabernacle in the wilderness, the tribes were commanded to bring an offering for the construction material not a tithe. When Solomon built the Temple, he did not use the tithe to do it. The tribes brought offerings sufficient for the task. Did not the priest recieve offerings from the tribes to pay for the sacrifices that had to be made during the different feast? Is not the tithe to be used for the material support of fulltime Ministers of the Gospel and not to built buldings or pay utilities. I ask these questions because Abram gave tithe to Melchisedec and the the children of Isreal gave tithe to the levites who gave tithe to Aaron. Melchisedec did not use the money for buliding projects, nor did the levites or Aaron. |

6 | Is tithe used for Min. or Bldg or both? | Num 18:28 | serenetime | 40222
Hey HEWEsq., I just got done answering a question regarding tithing recently. I personnally don't think that tithing is correct, but when it comes to giving a money offering to a church where you are being taught the true word of God, chapter by chapter and line by line and you're growing spiritually then it's appropriate. If you feel you are learning the word by your Pastor and or ministers in depth in the original languages in which they were written of the OT and the NT. But most of the time you will not find this type of teaching. So I would pray on whether to give a money offering to any church. As for where it's suppose to goes, it should go to where ever it's going to benefit the teaching of the true word of God, I hope I've helped. Your Sister in the true word of the LIVING WATER OF THE FATHER, SERENETIME |

7 | Is tithe used for Min. or Bldg or both? | Num 18:28 | charis | 40224
Dear Serenetime, Greetings in the name of Jesus! Sounds a lot like payment for services rendered! :-) Do we pay in straight installments or is it commission-based? Are there bonuses for a particularly good sermon? Sorry for my flippancy, but isn't it God's money? We give in faith to the local church in which God has placed us. We do not decide the *worthiness* of the recipient. If we give faithfully, we will be rewarded according to His riches in glory. Our *feelings* are not an issue. In Christ Jesus, charis |
