Tom: For your first visit, this is not a question worth an answer! Tom I have a teenage daughter and two grand daughters 9 and 12. I hope this question you asked gets blocked from general viewing to be very honest. Your question is unacceptable to me and my wife. Surely you could have been creative and changed the wording! This question is not only offensive but plain stupid! May I suggest you reconsider if this forum is truely where you inteded to post such a vulgar question. Normally I open by wlecome to the Forum. However, If this is the knid of language you are used to writing or talk like, this Forum is not for you. Carefully reconsider if you wanted a Christian Forum. If you agree that this question was in the poorest of disgression, then please try once again, with a worth while question, and you will be welcomed, as at least I often do to new forum users. | ||||||

I apologize for not making myself aware of the nature of this forum prior to posting my question. I was looking for assistance in making an appropriate reply to the person who wrote the vulgar statement, and didn't take the time to get to know the "flavor" of this forum. I have no problem with the question I asked being edited, and I will refrain from being explicit on this forum with the foul details of abhorrent behavior in the future. That being said, I consider you to have crossed the boundary rational thinking to purport that this type of language is something I am used to talking or writing. Why didn’t you infer the opposite to be true? Isn’t it clear that the very reason I came here was to seek assistance in refuting and rebuking the offence? I merely quoted the offensive language. If I spoke about a murder and condemned it, would you assume I really condoned it. If I spoke of the gory details of it, would you think me likely to be a murderer myself? I read with interest that you have a teenage daughter and two grand daughters. While I can imagine what point you may be trying to make by telling me that, in reality I truly don't know the relevance of it as I do not know them or their habits. I have had extensive contact with many teenage girls however in the course of ordinary living; and I have found most of them to use the most crude and vulgar language. For instance, I used to live across the street from a Junior High School (7-8 grade). I would sometimes be outside the school when it let out. I would hear many, but it seemed like most of the girls using the foulest and most vulgar words you could probably imagine, oftentimes yelling them back and forth up and down the block. The eight to twelve year old children who live next to me now routinely exchange curse words with their parents and grandparents. I often on the sidewalks and streets, overhear men and women of all ages, and I mean all ages, use all kinds of curse words and vulgarities. This is not my opinion nor am I giving you unsolicited advice. It is just factual experience. I wonder if you are cognizant of the vulgar manner of speaking of many ordinary people. Have you familiar with the language used on network TV and in mainstream Hollywood films in the last ten to twenty years? Personally, I am appalled by it. Thanks to those that provided the Ephesian references above. I think they are appropriate. -TB |

Tom: James 1:19 "This you know, my beloved brethern. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger." James 1:21 "Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. Verse 26. If anyone thinks thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bride his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless." all verses are NASB updated. Tom, I don't care who first penned the vulgar insult about and to women. You seem to be able to communicate in English, much better than average person. I would think common respect for the ladies, we have in the forum, that you might have used other words to qet your question across, with the basic meaning. Surely you are not tring to plead ignorance? Repeating the vulgar statement on any forum would be improper for a Christian, is that not so? The revelance of my wife, daughter, and grand daughters, should be abundantly clear. I will however, for the sake that you truly don't know, explain it for you. My wife reads this every time I have been on the forum, and we discuss the notes, questions and the like. My 15 year old daughter also gets on and reads what has been asked and answered once in a while. Tom, would you realy want a young lady to read what you wrote? How about a 15 or 12 year old girl? Your question was inappropiate to pose on even an all male forun, (if there is such a thing) say nothing about a forum of mixed company! Being new, and posting an unacceptable vulgar offensively worded question sends up HUGE RED FLAGS! No one knows anything about you, as you did not put anything in the Update User Info. when you signed in. How are we to know if you are just tring to have some vulgar fun? There have been others that have come just to insult and be rude. How else can anyone assume anything about your walk, or even if you are a Christian? Your question as presented was in extremely poor, offensive taste. I am not a prude. In my 57 years on this earth, and having been in the U S Navy, as well as having been a sub-teacher, and Pastor, and I do live in the real world. I doubt there is not much I have not heard or been exposed to. I am keenly aware that abusive language is a common practice, even anong some Christians. That arguement does not hold water for me. My wife and I often change the TV channels. We have only an antena in the rural area, that gets 7 stations. We have spend more time on PPS or Christian radio or music, and reading now. Our Daughter is aware of the vulgarities at school, we are not ignorant people by any means. My wife and I both have two graduate seminary degrees. We have had ministries with the nastiest, foul mouth, hungry, homeless, people. All who needed Jesus. So I am perhaps more aware of what has been going on in the last 40 years than you. However, Scripture clearly says this is not my home, I am to be different. The Scripture I gave at first should make my point. I am known on this Forum, as almost always being kind and very gentle. I try to be respectfull, and show Christian love. My verse that I cling to is Galatians 5:6 "....The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself thriugh love." NIV. I accept your apology. Let's move on from here, and Welcome to the Forum. I hope you enjoy the forum. We have very special people here that do there very utmost to show love, that is more than a word, but it is action in written words and prayer. Peace and Blesings. justme |
