1 | Can I go to Heaven if I smoke? | Eph 2:8 | Jeanne Malt | 190326
I am a fairly new Christian although I have believed in Jesus my whole life. As with everyone else in this world I am very imperfect!! I lived in the world for 40 years before I actually became born again. I am unfortunately a smoker(cigarettes only)I have been trying to quit. I'm even trying medication from the doctor. I have cut back a great deal but not completely quit yet. I have gone forward for prayer many times and spoken to Jesus about taking this habit from me but, I still not there yet. Someone close to me told me if Jesus came to Rapture the Church, I would not get to go!!! That devastated me!!! Is that true??? I talked to a couple other people that said no Jesus loves us unconditionally and in him we are made perfect. What do you say?

Ma'am, I see it has been a while since you posted your question. I apologize, but I only just now noticed it. There is a wonderful Bible based course you can take in your efforts to serve the Lord in quitting smoking. You can find it at: www.settingcaptivesfree.com Wonderful Bible instruction in there, too. Hello, just a note. My cousin is asst. pastor. He says that smoking will not send you to hell, but it will make you smell like you have been there.(HAHA). I had smoked for about 15 years. The hardest thing to do was put them down. I prayed for hlep and relief. 1 year after I was saved, I put them down for good.(Jan. 17,2001)" I can do all things through Christ...." 4 | Can I go to Heaven if I smoke? | Eph 2:8 | DocTrinsograce | 192777
Dear Michael, I love it... may I quote your Pastor cousin? :-) Praise God for His grace in helping you with smoking. A pastor friend of mine used to say, "Don't be grateful for victory, be grateful for forgiveness." I didn't understand that for a long time. Then it dawned on me: Victory puts the focus on me. Forgiveness puts the focus God! Anyway, thank you for your post. In Him, Doc |

Hello Doc, by all means quote him. Thank you for your reply. I had never thought of it that way. Although it is a victory, without the forgivness, it really does not matter. Praise the Lord. Shalom,Michael03 |
