Hello NeffyM, and welcome to the forum. Salvation is the act of being saved. According to Webster, salvation is “deliverance from the power and effects of sin”. Grace is the means by which salvation comes. Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;” You asked “What is the difference between being saved by grace and salvation for christians?” The answers is, there is no difference. Salvation IS being saved by grace. Secondly, you asked “Where in the bible would I be able to find the meaning of being saved by grace and salvation.” Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” So grace is redemption and forgiveness of trespasses. Grace is by nature a free gift. Lastly you asked “Can one be independent of the other?” My answer would be a hesitant “yes”. It would seem that grace is offered to all (John 3:16) but it is not accepted by most and therefore salvation is not given to most. (Matthew 7:13) I hope this answers your question. Ocelot |
