1 | Justification for non-Christian Living?? | Gal 5:24 | prazn | 87471 | ||
Hi EdB, Thanks for your comments. I'm wondering, who on earth, after having an encounter with our Risen Lord, and confessing they need Him to save them, would want to continue to live like a demon? If a follower of Christ wanted to live like a demon, they would never admit their need for Jesus in the first place, they could just keep on the path of destruction laid by the enemy; am I right?!? Concerning our Lord's admonition about judging others, check out the following words, which Jesus Himself spoke: Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned." Respectfully, prazn |

"If a follower of Christ wanted to live like a demon, they would never admit their need for Jesus in the first place, they could just keep on the path of destruction laid by the enemy; am I right?!?" Dear Prazn, There are a lot of wrong reasons for wanting to follow Christ. There are those, for instance, who just want fire insurance; or want political power; gain health, wealth and happiness; get sober; straighten out there delinguent children; save their marriage, find peace and serenity; etc. etc. The saddest thing is that, through "seeker sensitive" programs (popular among many evangelical churches today), the gospel is watered down to attract these very same people. The rational is to get them coming to church, tell them what they want to hear, and over time the gospel will slowly (by osmosis perhaps) sink into their hearts. This is great marketing but lousy theology! God help the church in America. John Reformed |

John, You know... you're right. There are probably lots of people who call themselves Christians (i.e., born again and bought by the Lamb) who really aren't (hence the reason for our Lord's parable about the "wheat" and the "tares"): Matt 13:24 Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. Matt 13:25 "But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. Matt 13:26 "But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. Matt 13:27 "The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' Matt 13:28 "And he said to them, 'An enemy has done this!' The slaves *said to him, 'Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?' Matt 13:29 "But he *said, 'No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. Matt 13:30 'Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.""' Almighty God is the only One who knows who His children are. I think that, when we get to heaven, we'll be amazed at who ain't there and equally amazed by who is!!! God bless you! prazn |
