1 | Who are "the elect"? | Gal 3:29 | kalos | 182636
Ebrain, I agree with you, but the problem with this particular individual is that if one reads primarily the OT and regards the NT as somehow inferior to the Old, then he would give little weight to NT proof texts. Grace to you, John |

2 | Who are "the elect"? | Gal 3:29 | ebrain | 182642
My understanding of, "A Messianic believer", is a Jew who has accepted "Jesus the Nazarene" as their, and our Messiah, I know a number of them, and have never found one yet who did not consider that the NT, was just as much Divinely inspired as the OT. In fact I have gained a lot more insight into the NT, from Messianic Jewish teachers, than I have gained from Gentile teachers. Two M J, web sites that I can strongly recommend are www.ariel.org and www.moriel.org have a look and you will see what I mean. The Lord bless you. Edwin. |

3 | Who are "the elect"? | Gal 3:29 | kalos | 182645
Ebrain, I know what you mean and I agree. I'm not saying that a lesser respect for the NT is a standard teaching of Messianic believers. It's just that this particular Messianic believer, the one I'm talking about, does seem to regard the NT as inferior to the Old. For one thing, this person believes the NT was originally written in Hebrew, then translated into Greek. And that in the translation from Hebrew to Greek, much of the original meaning was lost. Again, not all Messianic believers hold to this, but some do. I appreciate your replies and your recommendation of ariel.org and moriel.org. I'll look into them. Grace to you, John |

4 | Who are "the elect"? | Gal 3:29 | ebrain | 182646
Hi John. I can sympathize with your friend, as I believe that the autographs of a large part of the NT were in fact written in Aramaic, a sister language to Hebrew, and then translated into Greek for publication. I have discussed this at length before on this forum. Peter considered Paul's writings as Scripture. Must close now due to time. The Lord bless you. Edwin. |
