Hi Doc, Many versions seem to say that the promise was made to the Seed. I understand that promises were made to Abraham. Were any made to the Seed directly or is there something else in the Greek? NASB: "...the SEED would come TO WHOM the promise had been made." I did read (156918) and appreciate them. |

Hi, Thomas... In a sense, the promise of the Seed of Abraham is a promise to every one of the elect (Galatians 3:22). It was looked forward to all the way up to the time that it was fully realized (Hebrews 11:39-40). We now look back upon a specific event, having the advantage of even knowing the Name of the Messiah. He is the firstborn of many brethren (Romans 8:29), so we might assert that the promise was to Christ, as well (Romans 9:8). In Him, Doc |
