For the listing found in 2 Corinthians 6:3-7, what would be the reasoning for including Deity, the Holy Spirit? Does it not make more sense if left in lower case, holy spirit? From the heart, Ray |

2 | Holy Spirit, or holy spirit; a spirit of | 2 Cor 6:6 | Makarios | 103243 | ||
Greetings Ray! In 2 Corinthians 6:3-7, Paul lists 10 hardships that proved his integrity, listing 13 qualities of his character that were exemplified in each struggle! And yes, one of those qualities included the Holy Spirit, since he would have to be indwelt by the Holy Spirit in order to "be regarded as deceivers and yet true; as unknown yet well-known, as dying yet behold, we live; as punished yet not put to death, as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing yet possessing all things." Only the indwelt Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19) would produce in Paul the God-given qualities of character that proved his integrity wherever he went, regardless of whatever circumstance he faced! Blessings to you, Makarios |
