1 | Do we all get to heaven together? | 2 Cor 5:8 | Diomede | 158218
Do christians all get to heaven at the same time? I like the idea of our deceased loved ones looking down on us, but is this biblical? If we do all get to heaven at the same time how is that possible? I'm interested to hear peoples thoughts, and also to get some verses to clarify the matter. Thanks |

2 | Do we all get to heaven together? | 2 Cor 5:8 | Makarios | 158219
Greetings Diomede, I believe that once a believer in Christ dies, then their souls go to be with the Lord. I would cite the following passages as support: 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23; 2 Peter 1:14; Psalm 17:15; 73:23-26; Rom 8:38-39. As for the dead looking upon the living, the only possible support for that is in Hebrews 12:1 - "the cloud of witnesses".. But you have to 'read into' scripture that these witnesses are people who are dead in Christ, and that they are observing us, etc., etc... Scripture does not say that the dead observe the living. The witnesses spoken of in Hebrews 12:1 are those who have already passed away in Christ (Ch. 11), but have left their godly examples and testimony of faith to encourage the living to live in faith in Christ. But when the Lord comes again (Matt. 25:21; John 14:3; 17:24; 1 Thess. 4:17; 1 John 3:2), then we will all be caught up together with Him, and we will be clothed in our new imperishable bodies (1 Cor. 15:40,42), and be with Him forever. Blessings to you, Makarios |
