This posting is about a dead guy named Joseph Campbell. Many of you may or may not have heard about him. My mother, loves this guy. He's in Hell right now I guarentee you. He embraced "everything" as my mother says. Shes a New Age person or whatever, along with my grandmother, whom my mother lives with. My sister as well loves Joseph Campbell. She is a wicken. All three of these people have something in common. They don't know Christ. I have tried everything, and yes I am still praying for them. My mother's embraced this "New Age" stuff for about 9 years and my grandmother for about 12 or 13. My sister is the one I am really conscerned about. She's only 13 and is already saying to me that basically Satan is comforting her. She has these drawings on her door in which display a hideous creature that has fangs and a sort of upside-down cross right in the middle of the face. The fangs are dripping with blood (I am being this detailed because I need the type of advice I am looking for). There's a girl version of this as well and both, she saids, are going to be used in a science fiction/fantasy book she is going to be writing. She's so vulnerable to Satan and IT JUST PISSES ME OFF WHEN ALL I CAN DO IS JUST SIT BACK AND WATCH HER LIFE GO DOWN THE DRAIN!! I know where she is becasue I have been there. I used to be Satanist. I don't want God to reveal Himself to her in the way that He revealed Himself to me. I just want to see her go to heaven. I don't want to come home one day to find out that my sister died of suicide or something and feel like I could have done somthing else. Is there anything I can do? Please help me. How can I counter attack this Joseph Campbell guy with Gods love, grace and mercy? Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice? | ||||||

Dear JesusFreak, Although we eschewed evil things, my background was very similar to your own. Although it took years, and many trials of various kinds, my entire family became saved. Now, in addition to your own prayers, we in the forum will be praying for your family as well. You need to understand that the greatest power of persuasion you possess is in your life. Walk close to the Lord... earnestly, whole-heartedly, completely, and utterly. Obey the Lord in every detail of your life. God will work in more awesome ways than you can imagine. Remember, Satan can do nothing without the explicit permission of the Lord. Furthermore, you need to understand that God is responsible for the eternal disposition of the souls of your family. He hasn't left that up to you or the devil. In fact, it is something that is not even entirely up to your family! Trust God's wisdom, power, and eternal purpose! Now, we know for certain that our Lord has already done something for your family: He has saved you! What an incredible work that was! Doing so may well be the very first step in His plan to save your entire family. In Him, Doc "Forcing tactics can only do damage, perhaps incalculable damage, to men's souls . . . Evangelism must rather be conceived as a long-term enterprise of patient teaching and instruction, in which God's servants seek simply to be faithful in delivering the gospel message and applying it to human lives, and leave it to God's Spirit to draw men to faith through this message in his own way and at his own speed." --J. I. Packer From Stand to Reason: Ambassador’s Creed An ambassador is… Ready. An Ambassador is alert for chances to represent Christ and will not back away from a challenge or an opportunity. Patient. An Ambassador won’t quarrel, but will listen in order to understand, then with gentleness seek to respectfully correct those in opposition. Reasonable. An Ambassador has informed convictions (not just feelings), gives reasons, asks questions, aggressively seeks answers, and will not be stumped by the same challenge twice. Tactical. An Ambassador adapts to each unique person and situation, maneuvering with wisdom to challenge bad thinking, presenting the truth in an understandable and compelling way. Clear. An Ambassador is careful with language, and will not rely on Christian lingo nor gain unfair advantage with empty rhetoric. Fair. An Ambassador is sympathetic and understanding towards the opposition, and will acknowledge the merits of contrary views. Honest. An Ambassador is careful with the facts and will not misrepresent his opponent, overstate his own case, or understate the demands of the Gospel. Humble. An Ambassador is provisional in his claims, knowing that his understanding of truth is fallible, and will not press a point beyond what his evidence allows. Attractive. An Ambassador will act with grace, kindness, and good manners and will not dishonor Christ in his conduct. Dependent. An Ambassador knows that effectiveness requires joining his best efforts with God’s power. |
