Good day to you, brothers and sisters: If my below questions are repeated in past posts, kindly direct me to them. Scripture from my NIV bible 1 Corinthians 7:17 to 24 Paul said: ...each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him... Q: What did Paul mean? In what aspect(s) did this apply? How should I interpret it in modern days? 1 Cor 7:25 to 28 Q: What kind of present crisis did Paul mean in verse 26? (problem of adultery in Corinthian church? female outnumbered male?) Q: In verse 28, why did Paul specifically mention that marrying or a virgin marrying was not sinning? Was it not understood that it was not sin? Thanks for any help. God bless. Azure |

Greetings dear sister, I believe what Paul addresses in this portion of scripture is that the important thing is not how we define ourselves religiously, but are we in obedience to God and His Word. 1Corinthians 7:23,24 It cost God something to redeem us, we need to ask ourselves have we remained true to Gods call on our life? Are we content with where God has presently placed each of us.Acts 17:26 God has determined the times and places. Are we surrendered to that? Hope this helps. YBIC, lionheart |

Dear Lionheart, Thanks for your help. What you have said is similar to what I have in mind. Thanks for strengthening my thought. However, concerning my questions on 1 Corinthian 7:25 to 28, I am still not clear. Can you help me out? In Christ. Azure |
