A simple question, if we are forgiven for adultery, then what are we not to be decieved about. As the verse states (in short and paraphrased) don't be deceived adulterers are not resurrected. | ||||||

"And that is what some of you WERE." A simple answer: read the next two verses after the one you cite, paying particular attention to verse 11. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NIV) 9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. "And that is what some of you were." WERE, past tense. You WERE immoral, idolators, adulterers, etc. But now you have been washed, sanctified and justified. That is what some of you were; but it is no longer what you are. AMPLIFIED 1 John 3:9-10 No one born (begotten) of God [DELIBERATELY, KNOWINGLY, AND HABITUALLY] practices sin, for God's nature abides in him [His principle of life...remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God. By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children and who take their nature from the devil and are his children: no one who does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God's will in purpose, thought, and action] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in Christ).
