I am only new here, so please bear with me. I have many questions in my heart and many concrens, but i will stick with what I read about 1 Corinthians 5, about the sins that were happening in the church there, I myself have tried to live the righteous life, seeing black and white in the scriputres but never able to live up to them, I have ended up caving in and sinning, I hate myself. I feel guilty continually and have tried to make up to God, but I feel so dirty so I stay from him, you mentioned about the fact that he paid the price on the cross for our sins, past present and future, but where does that leave us if we try but continue to sin, does that lead us to hell? that is my biggest fear. I hope someone can shed some light on this....I am not sure how long i can go on. | ||||||

Wow. What a refreshing post. Willing2change4ic you're desire for change is from the Lord and evidence that God is working in a mighty way in your life. And as the Lord convicts you with His Holy Spirit of Love and goodness you find you are more and more miserable when indulging in the flesh. The Lord is faithful to make you miserable so that you will be through sinning and seek to know the Lord in righteousness and faithfulness. 1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Better for us to flee from sins of the flesh but if after we have known the goodness of the Lord and walked in the light of salvation, if we return to the carnal appetites of the flesh, we find out two truths very quickly. 1) we are not past sinning. And 2) though it may bring a temporary pleasure even that is not the same as it used to be and we are miserable even while indulging. If we keep it up the Lord will allow the powers of darkness to bring desctructions into our lives to discipline us. There is no need to experience that. Your own misery drives you to the cross for forgiveness and repentance. Your own desire to walk with God and know his light and life in fulness makes you not able to go all the way into sin. So you may fall and indulge, but if you repent and cry out to God in repentance, He will hear and deliver you from your own appetites. Do not despair. Though you might feel despair, shame and as if you have gone too far to ever be used by God, remember that you can be set free by His Grace. You can walk in holiness consistantly. You can have victory over ever vice. What once seemed to revisit you every few months can be something that never rises again so long as you live. The Lord is able to do this. All you have to do is believe and call upon him with fervent faith. Tell the Lord that you will not give up. Tell Him you believe He is able and you refuse to doubt it. After all what choice do you have? If you return the way of sin.. You will regret it. You know you will.. there is no peace nor happiness there.. Since you know you will regret it, everytime you fall, the next time you are tempted, just say.. This time I am going to say no, it is not worth the regret that I know will come, before the day is over or even the sin is finished I will be in regret, but if I choose to obey I will experience joy. Joy is far better, I will live a life without regret. God bless you willing2. You are going to make it and you are going to overcome. |
