1 | If any man destroys the temple | 1 Cor 3:16 | prayon | 55479
Greetings new creature, In my bible there is a footnote that says that these verses are a severe warning to any one who would try to interfere with or destroy the building of the church on the foundation of Christ. Since the body of Christ is the church possible it means that no one should try to defile the church body. prayon

prayon: Thanks. In your response it says - "Greetings new creature, In my bible there is a footnote that says that these verses are a severe warning to any one who would try to interfere with or destroy the building of the church on the foundation of Christ. Since the body of Christ is the church possible it means that no one should try to defile the church body" At this time I would have to disagree with that footnote, because I believe it is our bodies that Scripture refers to as His temple, not a building. The Spirit of God does not dwell inside of a building, but rather inside of His people, both individually, corperately and collectively. 1 Cor. 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are. 1 Cor. 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. What are your thougts? God Bless New Creature |
