1 | Levels of Heaven and rewards | 1 Cor 3:10 | mrslay | 192647
I was hoping to find someone who can tell me where in the bible it tells about levels of heaven. For example, people who live in sin knowing better and those who work hard to live as the Lord comands and how will the rewards be different. I have heard some of this preached before but never where the bible tells us. Thank You, Mike

Hello Mike, Part of your answer may be found in 1 Cor. 3:10-15- 1 Cor 3:10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 1 Cor 3:11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 3:12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 1 Cor 3:13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. 1 Cor 3:14 If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 1 Cor 3:15 If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. There are spiritual consequences for what the believer does. God's provision for evaluating His people is the Bema seat of 2 Cor. 5:9 (cf. Rom. 14:10-12) "In the New Testament The Lord Jesus indicated that heaven is the dwelling place of God (Mt 6:9). Jesus, during his earthly ministry, repeatedly claimed that he had come from heaven (Jn 3:13; 6:33–51); and on at least three occasions utterances from heaven confirmed these claims (Mt 3:16–17; 17:5; Jn 12:28). There is where the true tabernacle stands, of which the earthly tabernacle was merely a shadow (cf. Heb 8:1–5). That abode of God was in view when the apostle Paul wrote of “the third heaven” (2 Cor 12:2). As such, it is often seen as a synonym for God himself (cf. Mt 23:22; Lk 15:18)." [Walter A. Elwell and Philip Wesley Comfort, Tyndale Bible Dictionary] I hope this helps, BradK |
