1 | the last Adam | 1 Cor 15:45 | Makarios | 218001
Greetings Alex! One thing to consider: If God had created Adam as 'immortal' or perfect, then why would God have included the tree of life (Gen. 2:9) in the garden? Why would man need to eat of the tree of life if he was already immortal? And why would God include death as a consequence (Gen. 2:17) of disobedience if man was already immortal? Blessings to you, Makarios |

2 | the last Adam | 1 Cor 15:45 | stjohn | 218006
Dear Brother Makarios, Looking at this thread I'd like to step in here if I may. I agree that Adam was not perfect or he would not have succumbed to temptation. But I believe many theologians would agree that Adam -and not only Adam- indeed all life was created to live forever (Romans 5:12; 8:22) Christ as the 'Redeemer' would give this life back through His perfect sacrifice and all of creation receives the benefit of His perfect gift. Also considering satan and his minions possessing immortality, perfection and immortality are not therefore necessarily synonymous. My two cents :-) John |

3 | the last Adam | 1 Cor 15:45 | YenIsaRap | 218016
Dear Brother stjohn Rom. 5:12 (NASB) Therefore, just as through (X)one man sin entered into the world, and (Y)death through sin, and (Z)so death spread to all men, because all sinned-- Rom. 5:12 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: According to (Rom. 5:12) Death entered the world through sin. Therefore Adam was created immortal. Nowhere in scripture are we told Adam succumbed to temptation. Eve was tempted then gave to Adam. (Gen.3:12) (K)The man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate." Adams' sin was eating the forbidden fruit. Gen.2:16,17 16) The LORD God (Q)commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17) but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it (R)you will surely die." Be Blessed YenIsaRap |

4 | the last Adam | 1 Cor 15:45 | stjohn | 218021
Hi YenIsaRap, I would be loth to say Adam was not tempted, though Scripture doesn't specifically or expressly spell it out for us, logically the implication is still -I would say- most emphatically there. He was indeed tempted by the fact that Eve offered it to him, thereby he was tempted to eat. Her act of offering it to him, by it's very nature was a temtation. Adam's reply to God: "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate." was a poor excuse at best to, try and pass the blame over to Eve. :-) John |
