2 | Why should women be silent in churches? | 1 Cor 14:34 | prayon | 58518 | ||
Greetings JKeel, In the Corinthian culture, women were not allowed to confront men in public. Apparently some of the women who had become Christians thought that their Christian freedom gave them the right to question the men in public worship. This was causing division in the church. These verses are not meant to say that women should not allowed to participate in church, which some people try to say today. In chapters 12-14 it clearly states that women have spiritual gifts, and they are encouraged to use them in the body of Christ. prayon |
