Hi, my question today has to do with love. In 1st Corinthins 13:4. It say's "love" is not proud. Now why can't love be proud? Is it saying that love can't be proud of the person you love? I know this is not consouling, but it would give me more insight if people could enlighten me on this subject. Thank You. |

Goodmorning Brother, The greek word here for proud is Physioo- To puff up,inflate,to be proud. In this context Paul is telling us love is'nt a self focused thing. He tells us what love is not.Paul goes on at the end of the chapter that love is the greatest. There is no sin in lifting someone up as long as the focus remains on God. We see in the Old Testament where God says that David was a man after his own heart. In he Gospels he tells the disciples regarding Jesus- This is my Son in whom I am well pleased. 1 John chapter 4 is an outstanding scripture on the true heart of love. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |
