2 | biblical reason for todays mondern toung | 1 Cor 13:1 | Makarios | 10817 | ||
Dear TECNOTROG, The only evidence in Scripture that I can find for a "holy language" is in 1 Cor. 13:1, when Paul mentions (presumably in passing) a reference to a 'tongue of angels', and this is not found in the book of Acts. In Acts 2:1-13, we read the Holy Spirit coming at Pentecost, filling the disciples and they began to speak in their own native languages (v. 8). I believe that each disciple spoke in a 'known tongue' spoken in each of the places or regions described in verses 9-11. This was done to show the signifance of this Event, since this was a gathering of different nationalities and languages. |
