Can a person have a vision and a revelation....and reveal something about the bible and characters...be considered to be used by god, even though the revelation at the time might not be understood....by all?Read 1 Corinthians 12:1-6...included in the revelations are things that are not taught by today's clergy?

What do you mean by "not understood by all"? Do you mean "not everybody understands it (but some do)" or "nobody understands it" but this person? You mention verse 1 Corinthians 12:1-6. Read verse 7. The gifts are for the "common good" not just that of the individual. The issue should not be whether or not it is taught by today's clergy, but whether or not it is found in Scripture. When I looked up "vision" in the Bible, it was interesting to see how, in the New Testament, it was front heavy - in the Acts up through 18:9 and nothing except the reference to Paul's conversion in Acts 26. Note also 1 Corinthians 2. Pay attention to what it says about the Spirit and what He does for believers. See in Colossians 2:18 what it says about those who take stands on the visions they have seen. I think, if I were you, I would encourage this person to exercise caution. Take to heart Acts 17:11. read 1 corinthians 2 chapter entire chapter...the good of all who has had a revelation..not all will understand..does not mean it will not be good for them...just because they don't understand it does not mean it is not good for all. That reasoning applies to everyone what do you understand of god unless he helps you understand it?There are plenty of children today who can read books...but don't have a clue of what they are reading until it is revealed to them!So what if we read the bible 50 times over....i guarantee god has to "make" you understand it...Who knew the bible better than the pharisees..or sadducees they had it written on there forheads...Saul who became paul was the formost he knew the scriptures better than anbody....but was blinded on the road...then he understood...peter on the rooftop...after that he knew different...and he walked with jesus everyday....good day sir....read !1 corinthians 2:7-10

If you mean "all believers" when you say "all who has had a revelation", I agree, (1 Cor 2:10). 1 Corinthians 12 addresses the building up of the church - the body. It addresses the individuals as parts of the one body. God, through His Holy Spirit, enables us to understand spiritual things 1 Cor 2:10-13. These things are hidden to unbelievers, 2:6-8, but we have the mind of Christ, 2:16. As you read through 1 Corinthians, you'll notice that there were divisions and quarrels in Corinth (1:10-11). When Paul addresses them, he does not speak towards their individuality (although there are many body parts). He stresses their unity - one body (12:20). The manifestations of the Spirit are for the common good of those who have the Spirit. He will give understanding to those who are His. |

"Romans 8:29....says god predestined and foreknew who he would call......how does he do it since man cannot see him....." People don't need to see the One who calls. People only needs to hear. (Take for example, a telephone.) Also, Ps. 19:1, "The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands." (NASB) The Bible is the Word of God (Matt. 15:6; Luke 5:1) It is breathed out, or inspired, by God (2 Tim 3:16) Being a prophet is a heavy burden to bear. Deut 18:22 “When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him." (NASB) |

read those chapters again.......the people(jews)had been so burdened by the religious leaders(just like today) they press him(jesus)to feed them anything spiritual to relieve them jesus is the word....which he would write in the hearts and minds of men.The religious leaders kept holding the people down with their traditions...jesus being the word refresh them with holy spirit....and you don't have to be a prophet to have a revelation...
