3 | The Lord's supper | 1 Cor 10:16 | vume | 48727 | ||
As I grew up in a church I was taught that circumcisim was the blood covenant for man and when Jesus shed God's Blood in crucifiction the covenant was completed. Genesis:15:9: And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. This ceremony make me think there is more and should be understood especially in partaking of communion. |

vume, In my Church we believe that Holy Communion is a partaking in the one sacrifice of Christ as our Passover Lamb offered once for all. "Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us, therefore, celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." 1 Cor 5:7-8 24: and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." "In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes." 1 Cor 11:24-26 16: The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? 1 Cor 10:16 "but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues for ever. Consequently he is able for all time to save those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them."Hebrews 7:24-25 "And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders, I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth;" Rev 5:6 "Oh, that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire upon my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, says the LORD of hosts, and I will not accept an offering from your hand. For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense is offered to my name, and a pure offering; for my name is great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts."
