I have a question regarding the phrase "God doesn't give you more than you can handle". People seem to use it all the time, but I am wondering if this is tied to any specific passage or based in scripture at all? | ||||||

Hello, the scripture you are referring to is in 1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. I need this one alot! We were just discussing this at study last week. That is, some endure what seems as major trials like Joesph, Job, etc, while others go throught milder adversity but the bottom line is that God knows each person; their strengths and weaknesses and what they can endure; this helps me when alot when I have questions about why some are more afflicted then others etc. Have a good day |
