1 | Does the Law still stir up sin? | Rom 7:5 | Mommapbs | 84210 | ||
Greetings Emmaus! You wrote: "The problem is not the law but the sin in ourselves which thwarts our ability and willingness to obey the law." Yes, because of our sin nature, and the nature of the Law (with its Divine origin and authority) we find ourselves in the middle of a battle! My Sunday School teacher likened this to living with two dogs, one bad and one good. She told us that whichever dog we fed the most would be the winner of the fight. How right she was! For the more I buy into the lies of the evil one or the lusts of the world, the more often my behavior is contrary to who I am, the new creature, in Christ! Yes, the Law is our "school teacher" as its purpose is to lead us to Christ, to show us that we all miss the mark that GOd has set - absolute holiness, perfection. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift of Grace! Blessings upon you and yours - thanks again for the reply. |

Mommapbs, You are welcome, but I do not want to take credit for someone else's work. I was just quoting from the Bible Study cited at the end of the post. Emmaus |

Emmaus, thank you for your honesty about the authorship! Plagarism is taken very seriously in the secular world! (Why students have been expelled from university, honors have been stripped and lawsuits have been won over this form of robbery. Yet, I wonder why it is an aft accepted practice in the pulpit?!! mommapbs |
