1 | Do you have to know Christ? | Rom 1:20 | 9-1-1 | 146646
I was listening to a Christian Radio station the other day, as I do every day, and I heard something that confused me and I would like some one to give their opinion. This PASTOR said that we can go to heaven just by being good and doing the right thing. That you don't have to know Christ. He was refer. to those who are not able to worship the Lord and those who know nothing about the Lord. Those of different countries. I know what the bible says about this, but I also know that Jesus Christ is LOVE and showing love to one another is something that even Christian's lack sometimes.

Hello 911, Welcome to the Forum. Are you sure you were listening to a Christian station? The Pastor was clearly wrong- if you understood him correctly- because there is no salvation apart from Christ and scripture in no way teaches that our good deeds get us to heaven! (Is. 64:6, John. 14:6, Rom. 3:10-12) I believe the argument of Romans 1 is very clear on the matter.I believe this is referred to as Inclusivism. The debate is if a loving and merciful God would condem someone who cannot understand His revelation due to lack of mental capacity, etc. This is within Gods' sovereign grace. I hope this helps, BradK |

Hello BradK, Sadly, there are evangelicals who are in print as believing that those who never hear the gospel will get into heaven based on their life practice. Steve |
