Hi, tyaki... Welcome to the forum! Scripture never contradicts itself (Hosea 14:9; 1 John 2:21b). Start with that presupposition and then work toward a harmonization of the passages that seem at odds. In Him, Doc |

Thanks Doc. I am a relatively new Christian and am still learning (will always be learning, who am I kidding), but I was unable to come up with the answer on my own. I do "know" that God would never contradict Himself, but I am fallible and though I love to do street witnessing, I don't always feel qualified. Blessings. | ||||||

Hi, tyaki... Dealing with our presuppositions is a continual process. We hold them in the light of Scripture, amending them accordingly. Presuppositions aren't bad -- they are essential -- but they need to be validated, proved, and corrected. A lot of them are rooted in out culture and experience. The learning process is an ongoing one for all believers, digging from our minds that which is untrue and replacing it with that which is eternally true from Scripture. God bless you in your efforts to learn the Word. Indeed, the believers who read this, will be praying for you! Perhaps you will also pray for God's grace in this for us all. In Him, Doc |
