2 | calling for service | Rom 12:1 | little_lamb | 46329 | ||
I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. - Romans 12:1 Blessings to you in name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I ask for you to sit down, with your Bible, in a quiet place where you can spend time with God without interruptions and distractions. Begin by asking God to search your heart. He will reveal to you the things in your life that may be hindering your walk with the Lord. Ask for God to soften your heart and unveil your eyes so that you will see the Truth and may receive His Word. Ask Him to remove anything that may hinder your spiritual growth, lest it be stunted(Hebrews 5:12-14). Also ask Him to grant you repentance and forgiveness for the things He reveals to you. Then ask Him to speak to you and guide you through His word. Open up the Bible and be blessed by Jesus! I suggest that you start by reading all of Romans 12. This may help in answering your question. We are all called, as children of God, to be servants of our Lord. In what manner is each called to serve, is the question of many. The way we serve the Lord should be through our actions through out our day. We are called to glorify God in our bodies and in our spirits (1 Cor. 6:20). When we live in faith and according to God's Word, He will pave the way for us. We are all temple's of God in which the Holy Spirit dwells (1 Cor. 16-17). This is only some of your calling. You are called to be as Jesus says in His word, like Him. Do not get caught up worrying about where God wants you but be content in where God has you (Matt. 6:23-24). This place, where many get stuck, is a snare upon the path. I know this because I am there also. I got all caught up in where God wants me and how He wants to use me and I forgot to serve God where He already had me (being home, job, school, etc.) Please learn from my mistake and do not make it your own also. Believe me, when you step out in faith, according to the Word of our Lord, that is following the will of God and fulfilling the call he has placed upon your life. I hope this helps, and I did not confuse. I will be praying for God to bring you revelation concerning your walk with Him. With love, Marissa |
