1 | Is apostle Paul under the law? | Rom 10:4 | yura | 173803
In 1 Corinthians 9:21 Paul claims he's under the Law (toward Christ). But in Romans 10: he said Christ is the end of the law.In Acts 21:20-26 he seems to have hypocricy, when he made preparation according to the law before the Jews. This is contrary to the justification by faith, as I suppose. Please, explain this cotradiction.
2 | Is apostle Paul under the law? | Rom 10:4 | Searcher56 | 173804
Scripture ... Mat 5:17, Act 15:5-29, 16:3, 18:18, 21:20-26; Rom 10:1-7; 1 Cor 9:19-22; Heb 9-10 ... Paul, a Jew never said the Jews should/ could tuen away from the Law of Moses (Act 21:21), and he proved he stll followed the Law (Act 16:3, 18:18, 21:24-26; 1 Cor 9:21). God's day to you, yura and welcome to the SBF, 1 Corinthians 9:19-22 shows us that Paul made adjustemtns, so men could be saved ... I doubt he ever stopped FOLLOWING the Law of Moses or Christ. Romans 10 is about righteosness and the Law. In verse 4, where he wrote Christ is the end of the law., the word end (telos) could be termination of fulfillmeent or goal, which agrees Matthew 5:17. Also, read the context of Romans 10:4. Without Christ, the Law was incomplete. He came and His sacrifice made it so. Read Hebrews 9-10. Also, in Acts 15:5-29, we read the Gentiles had to obey most of the Law. Remember that Paul had Timothy circumzised. The bottom line is that we are free from the PENALTY of the Law of Moses, but it doesn't mean we are free from obeying it. Searcher |
