Connecting 148592 To say "But he 'saw' or witnessed the power of speaking in tongues" is making a presumption and addign to what the Bible says. Susan, you are on dangerous ground. We don't know know what Simon SAW ... I say he didn't HEAR anything. S |

Steve you and i could go round and round forever, but I am stopping it here. You believe that I am on dangerous ground and am making assumptions well if I am I am in some very good company - These people believe that the sign Simon saw was speaking in tongues- the same as I do: Albert Barnes (see his Notes on the Bible) John Gill ( See his exposition on the bible) Matthew Henry (see his commentary) Adam Clarke (see his commentary John MacArthur(see his study bible) Robertson (See Robertson's Word Pictures) These are some very wise and knowledgeable men whose work has been used for centuries. "Experts" can be wrong. Don't take their word for it. Rely on Scripture over men. There also are other "experts" who may disagree. In this case I don't think addressed the issue of "saw" and "heard". I am done, Steve. | ||||||
