1 | Why was the Holy Spirit delayed? | Acts 8:16 | Ray | 86278
Hi graceful, Would you clarify please your question about Hebrews chapters 8-14? Hebrews chapter 8 has only 13 verses, so I know you don't mean Hebrews 8:14; and Hebrews ends at chapter 13. Are you thinking of another book? Or what are you thinking about especially in Hebrews 8-13? Another question I have is the use of "it" by both you and Scribe when talking about receiving the Holy Spirit. I myself would use the pronoun "it" but I talk about receiving the holy spirit [sic] when I do. From the heart, Ray |

2 | Why was the Holy Spirit delayed? | Acts 8:16 | gracefull | 86306
Hi Ray, My use of the word it is in reference to the subject 'delay' and not the Holy Spirit. I was having a distracted day yesterday and not much made sense. I was thinking in relation to Hebrews, merely contemplating but not yet studying in depth, as to what was taking place in Heaven for this period of time..Why did God initiate the time-table He did between Passover and Pentecost? Just curious.. I was thinking of the entire discourse pertaining to the comparison between the earthly sacrificial ritual and the heavenly, as this scripture tells us the earthly was patterned after the heavenly. Hebrews 9:23 "It was therefore necessary that the PATTERNS(my emphasis) of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the HEAVENLY THINGS(my emphasis) themselves with better sacrifices than these." God bless |
