1 | Judas - betrayer not savior | Acts 1:25 | Sir Vant | 43251
It was a fulfillment of biblical prophesy when Judas' betrayal was bought with 30 pieces of silver. It was also a fulfillment of prophecy when the money was returned and then used to buy the potters field (or field of blood. See Matthew 27 5-10; -- Zech. 11:12,13; Jer. 19:1-13; 32:6-9.). 2 | Judas - betrayer not savior | Acts 1:25 | kalos | 43275
We all know that Judas' betrayal was a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. What is your point? Neither Judas' betrayal of Christ nor his return of the money contributed one single, solitary thing to our salvation. The Lord Jesus Christ -- not Judas -- fulfilled what had to be done for our salvation. Jesus, not Judas, is our Savior. Jesus, not Judas, went to heaven. When Judas betrayed Christ, Judas did nothing to contribute to our salvation. Christ, not Judas, gave his life for our salvation. Thus, Judas in no way fulfilled what had to be done for our salvation. To say otherwise is to imply that "Judas be praised! Had it not been for Judas, we would all perish eternally." |

I don't know why you are going off so much on this Judas thing. Has someone tried to tell you that Judas has something to do with our salvation in Christ. I agree with you. He does not. Our salvation is in Christ alone. My only point is that God was and is in control. The story unfolded as God knew it would. The prophecies are a testimony to that fact. Judas' role is part of the story. However, he fate was not a good one. The scriptures even say, "woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born." (See Matthew 26:24) Your SirVant

SirVant: You and stjones are right. There is no need whatever for me to go off on you over this Judas thing. Again, you are entirely correct when you say, "Our salvation is in Christ alone" and "God was and is in control." You know that and I know that. But it would seem that not all posters here know it. Sometimes I tend to get a little fervent. In this case, I got carried away. Peace to you, kalos |

Grace and peace to you too, my brother in Christ. John 13:35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. Your SirVant |
