1 | Filled with the holy spirit [sic] | Acts 13:52 | Ray | 28124
Would anyone like to speak to an interpretation that would put the holy spirit in lower case for this verse. The verse would read like this: "And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with (the) holy spirit." This would be the interpretation for other verses concerning the "filling of the holy spirit" See Luke 1:15, Luke 1:41, Luke 1:67, Luke 4:1, Acts 2:4, Acts 4:8, Acts 4:31, Acts 9:17, Acts 13:9, even Exodus 28:3, and Ephesians 5:18. |

Ray, What translation are you reading? I didn't see one that used the lower case. S

Hi Searcher 56, The Exodus 28:3 verse, King James, says, "...whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments..." Also Exodus 31:3, and Exodus 35:31, King James, speaks of God having "filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship." The other "filled with the holy spirit" references are not a translation but rather an interpretation. What would you say to that interpretation in light of the Exodus references? Later, Ray |
