1 | Is this vision Jesus Christ? | Acts 10:26 | Ray | 63251
Hi John Mosby, Neither the NASB or the NKJ which capitalize pronouns of Jesus Christ recognize this "certain man" as Deity. In my particular study I do not choose to capitalize them either. The idea of needing help in verse 13 contributes to my decision. But verse 11 with its words "stand upright" suggests to me that this man is not one to be worshiped and/or bowed down to. I compare the passage with Acts 10:26, where Peter says similar words, "Stand up; I too am [just] a man." We can compare Daniel 10:12 with Acts 10:31 also. God heard their own particular words but the ones sent in response were simply messengers. I think that it is good that you are open to such possibilities and are a free thinker. 2 | Is this vision Jesus Christ? | Acts 10:26 | Emmaus | 63273
John Mosby, The fact that a few verses later (v.10-13 this person who was "sent" says he was held back by the Prince (fallen angel aligned withn Satan) of Persia, and needed a greater angel's (Michael's) help would indicate this is not Jesus Christ, but an angel or messenger of God. Christ, however can be seen in Daniel 7:13-14. Emmaus |
