It is not applicable for a Christian Ac 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. Ac 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 14. Torrey Ac 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Christ taught us that we have to be clean in our heart. Mt 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Mt 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Mt 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. The clean and unclean animals was part of the law of moses, we cannot justified by those: Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Sorry Jonny: Listing verses does not justify a doctrine. Where is the evidence in Acts 10 or 11 of Peter understanding he could now eat all things ?? Merv |

Merv swerv: Mark makes an excellent point, one that you need to heed. I've followed your posts carefully and conclude two things: (1) You are encouraging debate and (2) you are pushing your denominational bias heavily. Both of these approaches are strictly forbidden on Study Bible Forum. Consequently, you have only two avenues of approach available to you: either withdraw from the Forum voluntarily before you are removed involuntarily, or make up your mind to cease debating and pushing your pet denominational biases and henceforth to abide by Forum guidelines. The options are yours, so please decide now the course you will take. This Forum will not compromise or modify its guidelines to accomodate you or anyone else. --Hank

Hank: I am not pushing a denomination. My beliefs reflect a denomination - yes. You must not agree that discussion is debate when there are differing opinions. I look forward to more discussions. Love in Christ, Merv |

Merv : Since, by your admission, your beliefs reflect a denomination, and as your beliefs go so go your posts. That is not the issue. The issue is whether your posts reflect Bible teaching and orthodox Christian views. Many on this Forum, this writer among them, are convinced that they do not. Moreover, it is unproductive and inappropriate on a Bible STUDY forum, as opposed to a Bible DEBATE forum, to engage in endless debates (or discussions, if you prefer). Therefore, once again I enjoin you to back off. If you wish to avail yourself of the give and take of Bible study, that's fine and there is no problem with that. If on the other hand you persist in soapboxing a particular denominational bias, such as promulgating Christian observance of the Jewish Sabbath, that is not fine and presents a problem that sooner or later will need to be solved, and it will be solved one way or another. As of now you are in the driver's seat and can make a choice of whether you are willing to abide by Forum directives or continue to drive on the same road by which you entered the Forum initially and on which you have persevered without relenting, in spite of admonitions by your peers. I shall be most eager to hear of your decision on this crucial issue. We are not being, and beg not to be seen as being, uncharitable toward you. It's merely a matter of adhering to clear Forum guidelines: those who are willing to do so are permitted to stay. Those who aren't must go, if not voluntarily, then involuntarily. --Hank

Hank: Unfortunately - you have been the only one to make issue with my discussions. I have had many great discussions with many others. Is there only ONE doctrine that this forum presents. If so I would like to see where it is stated. I do believe that all denominations which differ in doctrine also agree that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. So we have different views coming fromt he same book. So I take it you say this forum is for only discussing common views but where there is disagreement it should not be discussed. Just because discussions lead to disagreement does not mean that they are not healthy and growing experiences. I will continue to ask questions and answer questions based on my study of the Bible. I do believe everyone else on this forum responds the same way. Fortunately, we do live in a time when we are each freely able to read the Bible and search for the Truth. Jesus taught Truth and was and example of the Truths of the Bible. I do believe we are challenged to do the same. Standing for freedom to learn and express Truth, Merv |
