Piano Jess22: Welcome to the Forum! We have a 1919 Hamilton Player Paino, so your name was nice to see. Please take a moment and tell us something about yourself in the Update User Info. This helps to get to know a little about each other, and aids in answering questions. This is just an idea. In John 8:9 there is says the left one at a time, with the oldest ones first. Finally only Jesus and the woman were there alone. The questions that come to my mind are these. Why was not the man whom she was with brought to Jesus as well? Who made these sinfull men qualified to judge this woman? Do you think the reason the elder men left first was that they knew all to well that they sinners, and age had many sins needing forgiveness? There are many things taking place here, I think. Now as to what Jesus wrote that too has endless possibilities. Perhaps the names of women that some had adultery with, or other sins that would deserve the stoning of others standing there. What ever Jesus wrote it griped the hearts of the men wanting to stone her. This event was showing compassion and love for the unlovely, and the forgiveness of sin. I wonder if this example has had much encouragement for the women and men who have had simular sin in the past ages, and up until Jesus returns. I think so. The message in the sand was so moving that she was able to go and leave her life of sin. This same message is for us today to repent and leave our sin behind. The leters in the sand are less important to know, than what was written above the Cross on which Jesus bled and died for, and rose on the third day for you and me. Think on this. justme |

3 | What did Jesus write in the sand? | John 8:6 | EdB | 64948 | ||
Justme I not arguing with you about what Jesus wrote in the sand because we just do not know. Let me just give you a thought. We often focus on the sand rather than the man. I wonder if being in the presence of righteousness was more convicting than anything Jesus wrote. I wonder if Jesus might just have been doodling letting the presence of a Holy God sink in and pierce their hearts. EdB |

EdB:-) Good to hear from you! This passage has endless possibilities. You are so correct maybe Jesus did nothing but doodling. I have no real idea how awesome it would been just to be anywhere near Him. That experience alone of just getting a glimps of Jesus would be life changing, I am sure. I know you are not an arguing type of brother, and I appreciate you input, always! Feel free to share your thoughts with me anytime. How else can we grow and know each other unless we dialogue with each other? Besides what we don't get talked out here, maybe sometime in the Lords presence Jesus may just tell us what He did write if anything. Thank you for sharing this with me. justme |
