Dear Sister Azure, You wrote, "I always wonder why churches like to develop their own affirmations of faith instead of using the jewels or refined gold that have been passed onto us by the saints of the old." I am going to remember that statement! I hope you don't mind if I quote you one day! Americans are driven by the power of personality far more than they are driven by proposition. Look at some of the currently popular teachers in American pulpits. Check out their actual education. You will see how little emphasis there is on learning. Pietism, primitivism, pluralism, pragmatism, populism, philistinism... these are some of the most powerful beliefs that have created what we are today. Thus says the LORD, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'"
