1 | Half Brothers and Sisters of Jesus? | John 7:5 | Morant61 | 136637
Greetings Justme! There is very little direct evidence. John 7:5 says, "For even his own brothers did not believe in him." The indirect evidence that is usually cited is that, other than James, none of His brothers are ever recorded as taking any kind of leadership role in the early chuch. Most assume that they would have if they have been believers from an early time. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Half Brothers and Sisters of Jesus? | John 7:5 | justme | 137714
Moran61: I can't help but question that allowing for Spiritual Gifts, that some of the other half brothers or sisiters many have just been in very quiet roles. Also, this part of John might refer that at that time period John was refering to they were not believers? I really don't know but I can't imagine how they could have rejected Jesus being as close to Jesus as they were. For me that would be a very sad part of Scripture if they never acknowledged Christ as Lord. Then were they saying that Mary and Joseph were not telling the truth about the Virgin birth of Jesus? This is a very complecated issue when one digs into it, I think. Blessings. justme |

3 | Half Brothers and Sisters of Jesus? | John 7:5 | Morant61 | 137716
Greetings Justme! There is an old saying that I have certainly found to be true: There are no grandchildren in the faith! Each must accept or reject the Gospel for himself. There were plenty of people who knew Jesus and still rejected Him, so I would not be too surprised if one of His own siblings would do so as well. Even some of the disciples rejected Him! Remember Judas! :-( But, as I originally said, there simply isn't much Scripture about this topic, so we certainly can't say much with any certainty. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
