1 | Son of Abraham, David, Joseph? | John 7:46 | Ray | 34941
Does the offspring from the descendants of David, this Son of David, need to be thought of as a man? Which translation/interpretation do you like best? NASB John 7:46, "The officers answered, "Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks." Amplified John 7:46, "The attendants replied, Never has a man talked as this Man talks! [No mere man has ever spoken as He speaks!] NKJ John 7:46, "The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this Man!" Again, the question is, is it necessary to think of Jesus as a man or should we only think of Him as the God/Man. |

2 | Son of Abraham, David, Joseph? | John 7:46 | Galileecr | 34979
Luke 2;40 Jesus grew in wisdom. It is a danger to think of Jesus as only God and not a real man,it is just as dangerous to view him as just a man. Someone in the crowd touched him and he asked,"who touched me?" He did not know when he would return in glory. He never ceased to be "God" but he did limit himself.Perhaps we cannot comprehend this but we can clearly apprehend what the bible tells us.When he needed to walk on water he did..othet times he took mass transit....if U get my drift.Hope this helps. |

3 | Son of Abraham, David, Joseph? | John 7:46 | Ray | 34991
Hi Galileecr, Please read my note to Wigglesworth to see where I am coming from. I believe that Jesus was born as a Baby and I capitalize it in my personal copy. He found Himself in the likeness of men and grew in wisdom, yes. You say that "He never ceased to be "God" but he did limit himself." In my mind's eye as a "capitalist" :) I see that you have in your capitalization not only caused Him to cease to be God, but have caused "him to limit himself" further. He walked on water because He was God and because He had the legs of a Man and not of a mere man. Is it necessary to make Him into a man? From the heart, Ray |
