1 | Enoch went to heavenwithout death how? | John 3:13 | GTSpeck | 231740
The Greek word which is here translated "ascended" is used in the New Testament to describe action taken by the person who is doing the ascending. Example: in the previous chapter (2:13) this same word is translated "went up". The only exceptions are when the object of ascension is an inanimate object - as with thoughts and prayers (e.g., Acts 7:23) - So what Jesus is actually saying here that no one has ascended into heaven under his own power. Enoch went to be with God, but did not do so of his own power.
