1 | Holy Grail and it's relevance | John 20:29 | TommyS | 99472 | ||
Makarios, good words. When I was reading in John earlier, I read that portion about the graveclothes Jesus wore into the tomb. John 20:7 SEEMS to tell us that that "Shroud of Turin" ISN'T from Jesus. Why else would John "bother" to write "And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself." How could Jesus' "Face" be on the shroud, WHEN His head was wrapped seperatly, is what I figure. Am I on the right track? TommyS |

Greetings TommyS! Yes, you are on the right track! :-) Those who support the authenticity of the Shroud are quick to point this verse out as "evidence" of its authenticity in the Bible. They present their arguments for the Shroud's authenticity in the same exact way: 'the answer would seem to lie..'; 'it seems very likely that..'; 'could well have..'.. There is no solid proof! :-) As Christians, let us not put our faith in 'Christ's napkin' or any material thing that has 'possibly' been left behind! Let us put our faith in Christ, and in Him alone! Blessings to you, Makarios |
