2 | Baptism -which one is right? | John 20:29 | Emmaus | 65952 | ||
MarieH, I like to stick with Jesus in matters of controversy. See Matthew 28:19. Especially in light of the fact that those baptized in Jesus name only, later had to have hands laid on them to receive the Holy Spirit. No mention of the necessity of that mentioned related to those baptized in the Tinity formula. I am quessing, but I think EdB's point was that baptism really does nothing, it is only a symbol, so what difference does it make? The answer is, a big difference, if you believe in regeneration baptism. And at least some significant difference according to Acts if the additional laying on of hands was necessary. Unless of course receiving the Holy Spirit is insignificant. Acts 8:14-17. Emmaus |
