2 | When was the Holy Spirit first given? | John 20:22 | Ray | 73280 | ||
Hi ijtruman, I don't see the breath of the Holy Spirit as being temporary. I see the breath of Jesus Christ as being tempory for He breathed His last at the cross. Here in John 20:22 I see Jesus Christ breathing on the disciples and saying, "Receive the holy/ spirit." I believe that when the disciples received this spirit of holiness they realized that this God/Man forgives their sins. They realized that they had seen the (Lord). John 20:30,31, "Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ/ the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in (His) name." Colossians 2:6, "As you therefore have received Christ/Jesus the Lord, so walk in (Him)." If we know (Him), have seen (Him), we will walk in (Him). It is difficult to know this triune God but He is true and there is no unrighteousness in Him. And I believe that we are complete in (Christ). Colossians 1:28; 2:10 Welcome to the forum. From the heart, Ray |
